In short, "Mr Jobs" just don't want to loose money from "apps-store" (as flash can be used to create the same apps but without apple's royalty fees).
In tech, any lammer programmer can write an flash (or i-phone, or android) apps which will hangup or even destroy your hardware.
But in reality, there's no problem as you can allways turnoff flash exept for several sites where it's really needed (as I do now on my desktop computer with firefox plugins). And there's many sites which I use for work (financial and statistical sites), and for education (some library and collaboration sites) and entertainment (video chatting, social sites) which awailable ONLY in flash. So unless I will get FULL support of flash 9 (at least, or better 10.1) I just unable to use eDGe for work (still use my eeepc netbook+amazon kindle instead).
