I have a separate card reader that would not load either card. The card reader wanted to format them but was not able to do this. I loaded books directly on the the Cybook and went to Arizona for a week. I was able to arrange to have both cards loaded by a friend. His computer had no trouble. Since there really was nothing wrong with the cards, the problem must be with recognition by my computer. When I returned from Arizona, I tried to put the loaded SD cards in my CyBook, but they will not stay in. Whatever holds them in does not catch. I e-mailed Jim, you, and Bookeen. I did explain to Bookeen that the card never worked. Jim said he would forward my e-mail to you. Bookeen replied the very next day informing me that "Broken parts are not covered by the warranty; if you wish, we can handle a repair. This operation costs 70 euros plus shipping". They gave me a "Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) procedure", but did not supply an authorization number.
SORRY! I don't know *WHERE* I got the clue you were in Australia, but I surely did!

The RMA process *should* have included a number. Email them again and make sure you let them know that you didn't get an RMA number. It should be a string of something like RMA-customername-MMDDYYYY-xxxx.

As for the card reader not formatting the SD card, perhaps it's not being recognized by the computer in the USB port you chose. Please try another.
