As it turns out, I think my problems were largely due to this, though I didn't always have the message. I have a lot of interference happening. My connection drops and the eDGe reconnects, rather quickly, to a 'friendly' neighbour

I'm thinking I will get a usb/ethernet adapter and do hardwired updates in the future.
