There are several services in the US that provide a mailing/billing address and mail forwarding for ordering from companies who are unable to ship outside the country themselves. We happen to use myUS.com but there are others. Someone from the MobileRead forum was looking at shipping to Europe through another provider whose name escapes me right now.

At least in Canada, you can add that US address on to your credit card (by calling them and informing them) as an alternative address. Not all US companies require a US *billing* address, but many do require a US *shipping* address. This address works as both for us, if you tell the credit card you wish to add an authorized address to your account.

With these services, the items are delivered to your US address (their offices) and then they package to reship to your international destination. We are Canadian and could have ordered an eDGe directly, but we happened to be in Mexico at the time our order was set to ship. So, we used our US address service to receive and forward on the package. Our shipping cost was approximately $95USD (and another $100USD in duty when it arrived) so it's not the cheapest option, but it is an option.
