Just wanted to update on my LCD problem. After contacting tech support and emailing them a picture of the problem the tentative conclusion is a loose connection or cable inside. They requested I return the edge for inspection ( and are providing a shipping label), after they receive it a repair or replace decision will be made. Personally I believe a purchased item that does not work correctly should be replaced, repair should be an option for something that has been owned and used for a while. I am impressed with their quick response and feel it will be made right.
