I knew a guy who used to drink it right out of the can... I found even the thought revolting... until I actually tasted the stuff years later. After moving to Asia and discovering that it was the dairy product of choice for coffee and tea drinkers, and then tasting a dessert made with it poured over ripe fruit, my opinion changed quickly.

In roadside reststop restaurants in S.E.Asia, the workers prep for the busses by half filling glasses with sweetened condensed milk so when the busses unload for their quick breaks, customers just say 'coffee' or 'tea' and the workers grab a glass and pour in the requested drink. EVERYBODY drank it that way, and it was difficult to get the workers to understand that I wanted my tea without any! They looked at me like I had two heads!
