Hmmm. Sweetened condensed milk? It was always in our cupboard because my mother made pies that used it, but I don't think I ever saw anybody drink it. I don't think I've ever even tasted it, except when used in pies or other desserts. Anybody else who grew up in the U.S. have the same experience?
(Of course, I was too busy eating what my father told me were "cinnamon rolls" -- margarine spread on white bread which was then sprinkled with sugar and rolled up. No cinnamon in it at all.
