Like many of you on here I spent alot of time reaserching my reader before buying. One of the intentions I had was to put an epub version of HCSB study bible on it. So I purchased my copy & installed it on my PRS-650. As many of you here have discovered once you try to access it on the reader you get a "Page Error" response.
I have put in a good few hours trying to find a resolve. This is what i've discovered that works for me.
1. Purchase & download a copy of the HCSB through Adobe digital editions. (Sony library just crashes trying to do the same)
2. Install if you dont have it already
Calibre ebook management software.
3. Install DRM removal for epub plugins as per the instruction on
Appretince Alf's website.
4. Import into calibre HCSB epub file from the adobe "my digital editions" folder
(most likely in my documents folder by default). This will remove the DRM on import. The imported file will be around 21.3MB
5. Convert using "Convert books" the imported HCSB file from epub to epub with Calibre changing only page setup to sony reader.
6. Resultant file is around 18.7MB. Save to your sony PRS-650 by drag & drop when connected.
After this process I was able to open & use the HCSB study bible on the reader.
I don't know what causes the origonal error as i've looked at the file structure of the bible & there is nothing over 200kb?
Hope this works for somebody else wanting the HCSB study bible on their sony reader's. I'd be curious to see if someone else can repeat it so its not just a fluke!
