They are QR codes. The images contain messages. There was a whole thread here in the lounge a while back that some of us had fun with. 
The above qr codes can be decoded online here. To use it right click the code image and paste the image location into the first field at the decoder and "submit query." A generator, to make the images with the message embedded that you want, is available here.
