I happen to have both and the only times I do not hit the right word is when my fingernails are freshly cut and down to nil.
Just use the stylus on these days,
it is built into the device for a reason. Also Astra is right, it is easier to get it right with your fingers on the bigger screen, not at the center of the screen but at the sides.
AFAIK the 350 is your son's so why do you go on complaining about this?
