Great info, even for a relatively seasoned techie like me. I very much am enjoying the way people present differing opinions and POVs here on MR.
I personally fall on the side of "it's relatively inexpensive, will likely fare no worse outdoors than other consumer electronic devices like cell phones given some reasonable care and the ability to carry around a couple thousand books/mags/newspapers/whatever to be enjoyed out of the confines of my home is priceless to me"
