Although Russell published these as two books, I can only think of them as a single story. If I had been forced to stop reading at the end of
The Sparrow, I would have been extremely distressed.
Children of God is essential and I strongly recommend that one not start reading
The Sparrow unless you know
for sure that you can put your hands on its sequel as soon as possible.
