PU leather is a thin piece of worthless trash leather that has polyurethane allied to the surface and embossed. It has none of the attribute of leather and will crack over time.

It does look good, and is probably all we can expect at this price. If you want real leather with the snap on the correct side for reading ($3-5 more depending on color) look here.
