B&N's website change was making me paranoid. But now I approve of the new confirmation screen before getting even the free books showing which price you should expect to "pay".
Although they really ought to replace the "$null plus applicable taxes" with a $0.00 to make it clear for those whose paranoia is less easily overcome by empirical testing to see if "$null plus applicable taxes" really did mean $0.00 and not some hidden surprise price.
