It was for me too - but if I don't use a gadget, I don't keep it. It has to be useful to some degree. There's always the "excuse" of specialisation though; one is not enough, you need one for reading in bed, one for comics and tech books, one very portable, etc. It's about finding the very best choices for your needs rather than making do.
