The bison is a problem, and I don't want to hijack the thread, but once at the zoo in Washington DC, the bison ate all the apples that were intended for the collared peccaries (a.k.a. "javelinas") next door. Plus they're also housed next door to the peccaries in the zoo in Providence, RI. Plus they're housed right with the peccaries in the zoo in Ueno, Tokyo. All of which is very peculiar, because the ranges of the animals in the wild aren't even close to each other.
Anyway - I suggest VERY STRONGLY that you protect your apples, and also your peccaries, if you have any.
