I'll be taking a paperback (or two) with me,

not my Kindle, when I leave for a wilderness whitewater kayaking/hiking trip in the northern Brooks Range (above Arctic Circle in Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Alaska) in a couple of weeks. While the Kindle would probably be fine I just don't want to have to worry about it. So now I'm stuck finding one or two books that don't weigh much or take up much space -- it's a 2-3 hour flight each way in a two-seater plane and I have to carry everything I need for two weeks in my kayak, so weight and space are limited. I've gotten very spoiled, having multiple books and magazines on my Kindle at any given time, so I can match my mood and reading material. Maybe it will be OK to spend long hours just sitting and observing untouched nature, though! (In 24-hour daylight, of course.)
