Those directions are not appropriates we are dealing with eBooks and not audiobooks and thus, there is no need for Overdrive Console.

Now, pick the telephone and guide your hapless relative through process of booting windows for the first time, downloading Adobe software, installing said software (which is something I was unable to do, it keeps crashing on my comp), registering into Adobe system, registering to Library, registering his/her Reader to Adobe software, ... up to opening the book on the Reader.
I would be very surprised if there was less than 24 steps involved.

There was no mention of a new computer with a new install of ADE with a new reader. What I was working from was a computer with ADE installed and registered and a reader already authorized. In the scenario of all the software and hardware are set and ready to go the number of steps is not many.
