Most of the USB keys/thumbdrives whatever you choose to call them on eBay from China aren't what they advertise them to be. Not all, certainly but sadly far too many of them. They say they're X GB but they're much smaller than advertised.
Many people report that the units have been tampered with to appear to be the advertised size - X GB but when the user gets to a certain point, the whole thing dies and they lose data.
I always tell people buying from China on eBay is like gambling - don't risk what you can't afford to lose.
There's someone on the eBay boards I used to chat with that for some reason seemed to think it was cheaper to keep buying garbage knockoff iPods from China that would die after a few weeks than invest in a legit one where he could get service, support and a warranty. ??? I could never understand that logic but to each their own right.
