No, it is not really important. Some wp and dtp applications let you use different colors etc for diacritics so that they simply stand out from letters.
Purpose in pointing this out was merely this that Kindle pdf rendering seems better because it apparently uses shades of grey to smooth the edges of the text whereas duokan appears to use black only and this, I think (I may be completely off the mark, though) accounts for relatively poor quality of text rendering in duokan, which otherwise outperforms kindle when it comes to handling and navigation etc of pdf files. I hope Kindle fw makers take cues from duokan. I cannot stand Kindle's inability to access table of contents in a PDF file.
