Truth is, that is one thing I can't dispute. It simply is what it is. Darwin didn't explain where life came from though. He explained that over time one form could evolve into multiple different forms in different parts of the world depending on the environment they were found in. So you have the basic form of beetle for example but with variations in size, color and other attributes. Of course in his day even suggesting that the forms of animate life that were to be found hadn't all been there at the creation was a shocking idea. And many scientists today do find as they have probed deeper and deeper into physics and other branches of science that they can't explain how things came to be without a supernatural event taking place. I read an interesting piece the other day that pointed out for example that matter isn't solid, being made from atoms which themselves have very little substance and then the author pointed out that the Bible says God made the world from nothing. In any event the argument of science vs. religion has gone on for centuries and I imagine (Mr. Camping not withstanding) will continue for quite a while yet. Modern English Bibles state that it took 7 days to create everything, but the original Hebrew I understand uses the term era's which implies a bit more time. In any event I do agree that science and religion will have to meet somewhere along the line.
