Of On the Beach, Stanley Kramer made a good
movie (1959), maybe with better appeal than the book.
Of Nevil Shute, over On the Beach, I prefer the foilleton A Town Like Alice, that has indeed a saga like catching story. The problem with Nevil Shute is that he often was "slightly" propagandist, although a with a happy hand as a writer.
