I don't think Amazon will "react", per se, to the latest releases. It's too soon after the $114 price announcement, and not enough time has elapsed since the Kindle 3.

I don't like touchscreen devices for reading, but if they release a touchscreen device, I hope there's a lock on it. One of the more annoying things about my Kindle 1, when I had it, was the inadvertent page turns if I was carrying it the wrong way or handed it to someone to look at.

I don't think we're close to a color e-ink device from Amazon. My understanding is the technology is still pretty expensive. How much incentive is there for Amazon to release a color e-ink device for a premium price when you've got the Nook Color and other tablets out there that would cost less? I don't think the color LCD screen on the Nook Color is bad enough in light to justify it, for most people.

What I'd like to see in the next Kindle is a return of the SD slot. But I have little hope for that.
