I did talk to Oberon today on the phone, wondering what their advice on cover sizes would be. They continue to recommend the K2 cover size, but couldn't really tell me why it would be better than a Nook Color cover for the Sony 950.

I did mention that I'd fit the Sony into a regular Nook cover, and they told me that if it was a very snug fit, there was the possibility that the leather straps could tear over time. So anyone considering that option should be aware of that. I personally didn't think the fit was horrendously tight, I was able to take the reader in and out of the cover without any particular difficulty. I figure it is a workable solution if you are buying used at a nice discount, but the K2 cover might be a better choice if you are buying new.
