Not sure what you mean by "media partition". As far as I know, there are just 3 folders, documents, Audible, and music. They are just folders, not partitions. Unless you are talking about some of the hidden system stuff.

I assume that you have books in the documents folder that are an appropriate file type, and appropriate DRM for that particular Kindle, if any. If you put a plain .txt file in the documents folder, does it show up on the Home Page?
