With the latest version, v.0.4.0 there are now an option to manually correct a mistake, and I use this quite often. It is much easier to work with that the previous one, v.0.3.4 in which Tidy did the correction automatically - v.0.4.0 seems really to work well for standard xhtml markup. As far as I can tell, however, there is NO way to turn off Tidy completely.
