After Hurricane Fran, I was without electricity for almost 2 months - and temps were hitting the 90's F. My older somewhat obese cat Spot still wanted to sit on my lap at night while I was reading - even though we were sitting in darkness by a camp lantern in sweltering heat & humidity. She kept climbing on & I kept relocating her next to me on the couch, but she wouldn't give up - she was a lap cat! One night she got so frustrated at being relocated that she climbed onto my lap, wrapped 4 legs around my thigh and held on as hard as she could with her eyes shut.
What could I do?
Boy, did I ever sweat, but she slept happily!
