Thanks for the link. I'm downloading DroidExplorer now. I was hoping to get Google's AppInventor working, but it seems to require a direct USB connection to the phone. I did lots of fiddling, and trying this and that, and got to the point where "adb devices" reported back 0000000000, but AppInventor still wouldn't work.

I need to check if there's a option that will let you build your app and manually install the APK on the phone yourself.

It was interesting, as I was doing things last night I realized that the phone portion had turned on, and calling and receiving phone calls worked. I didn't think that would without pulling the SIM card. I'm not sure what kicked it on, but it works sometimes.
