To do this yopu have to know the public internet addess of your broadband connection (not the address on your home network), or use a service like www.dyndns.org to handle that for you. You then have to tell the router to allow inbound connections on a specific port and that those connections have to routed to the PC/port that is running the Calibre server. The details of how to do this will be different depending on the make/model of router you have and possibly also whether you are using an ADSL or Cable broadband link.

This is all possible (it is how I have my own home network set up), but is not for the faint-hearted
