IMO, the character in the picture looks very cartoonish for a gritty fantasy novel and does not represent that well.

That's not the same as saying the are is bad, it's not, but I just think that it's important to get the feel of the book in the cover. If this was on the shelf, I'd probably never pick up if I was looking for a "gritty" fantasy book.
