I use Kobo's app for purchased books, ADE for library books and the OSX Finder (akin to Windows Explorer) for any other ePub. Why complicate your life? If I need to edit the ePub I use Sigil.

The only problems I ever had with the Kobo and corruption can be directly traced to the use of Calibre so you could say I swear at Calibre. Since I stopped using it for sideloading I've had zero, nil, nada, no problems.

I only use Calibre to convert from other formats. Even then I still swear at it for the trash it inserts into the HTML that I then have to remove via Sigil. I mean, really, isn't
good enough? You don't need
for every freaking paragraph.

It always amuses the number of posts I read that essentially say "I sideload e-books via Calibre and now my Kobo is corrupted. Kobo is at fault. Why won't Kobo tell me how to fix things" or variants thereof.

Isn't "ejecting" strictly for CD/DVD drives? I'd figure you'd use the "safely remove hardware" icon in the system tray. I don't have a Windows box at home to try this out though.
