Unless you or other users, I own a Kindle. So I can give both perspective that probably non Kindle users cannot.
I do not hate B&N, I do not work for Amazon and at the end, I buy or use, a device which provides a good experience, regardless of the brand.

1. So what?
2. Not exactly. The OP did not ask for your opinion on the BN skin, interface, or the device. The OP simply wanted to know if Kindle books could be read on the Nook, you took an opportunity--not that you ever really need one--to trash the Nook and inflame the community over here. Do you really not see a difference?
3. Yes this is a free forum and you're within your rights to stir the pot and alienate other users, but unless you enjoy living under a bridge, I have no reason why you continue to do so. Do Nook users parlay over to the Kindle forum to heckle and trash the device on a DAILY BASIS? Just because you can do something doesn't mean that you SHOULD.
And with that said, yes, you can post about how much the Nook sucks until the cows come home, but we are also free to call you out on your crap.
4. I don't own a Kindle, but I have used one. I do own several eink devices, and they are all pretty much basic and the same thing--they are all sturdy, they have eink screens, and you can read books off of them. Other features such as battery life, batteries, sd cards, etc., are all personal preferences, and no, you really don't have the "jump" on any of us when it comes to comparing an eink device to a Nookcolor or a tablet or whatever.
You used a NC and didn't work out for you. No one cares. I am a daily user of a gently rooted Nookcolor, and I'm an active member of several Nookcolor rooting communities. Yes we root, but we all still support BN and many of us still exclusively buy our books from BN because we APPRECIATE the awesome device they've given us at a very affordable price. So no, you are WRONG in your assumptions that people are rooting because they're simply dying to get away from BN and give money to Amazon. You couldn't be more wrong if you tried.
