Quite, and royally ticked off the originator of the thread, who sort of meant what the title of the thread said. Frankly, I don't care about OS wars. I've learned and forgotten more OSes than most people ever see[1]. I bought the NC to see if I liked the flavor of the OS. As it happens, I do. The fact that it's a cut down version of a full Android installation just might have come to my attention BEFORE I BOUGHT IT!
From which came the initial post's "Hmmm... What about this newfangled Android stuff? Is it any good? AHA! I can check it out for cheap with a Nook Color! (Note the clever rationaiization for buying a new toy?)"
The words 'cheap' and 'toy' should have been a clue, but no--let's get all angsty and rude and hijack a thread for soapboxes. If this is the quality of discourse on the Nook forum, I'll go back to the jetBook threads. They're slow moving, but much more polite.

[1] I'll see any OS you might offer and raise you the magnetic card programming on the Olivetti-Underwood Programmo 101. Most OSes work tolerably well. FYI, I still think late-mark VAX systems had the best overall balance for pure utility. They just weren't as pretty as the NC.
