True. But I never really believed she was sick in the first place, which is what lead me to do so much research and to be open to the idea of trying a different Vet. Although it was never the norm to ask a Japanese doctor what the treatment or medicine is going to be, this has been changing over the last 10 years, so when the Vet was reluctant to tell us the names of the medicines it made me suspicious.

It's not a cultural norm to formally complain in Japan, although this too is changing as Japan evolves from a "village society" into an "apartment society." Things like this would traditionally be handled word-of-mouth. And gossip has ALWAYS been the norm in Japan, so the word will spread...
