If you're serious about wanting to know why people are attacking your posts, I will try to weigh in and point out that you're using very pejorative terms.
I actually agree with the gist of everything you've said here in this paragraph, but it's so negative that it's really distracting from your overall point, I think. And I'm the LAST person to be labeled a B&N cheerleader - I've waded in there with you before in the "800 Reasons Why The Stock Reader Sucks" arguments.
If you went with a phrasing more like this:
