Secondly, Amazon own mobi and can develop it into a format best suited to its business model and distribution. No business wishes to throw away their investment and adopt a method/practice which any competitor can latch onto.
People complaining about the Kindle not opening epubs is like Android owners complaining about not being able to run Apple itunes apps.

I don't mean to say Amazon will stop selling mobi but I think it will bring epubs to sell to other eink devices.
