I think the answer lies basically there (and I agree with most of the rest in this post as well).
I you were independently wealthy, would you
- still write?
- still write exactly the same books?
If the answer is yes to both questions, all the rest is of secondary importance. That doesn't mean all other considerations are
unimportant.
It helps if you are your own worst critic.
