For the main part, it is you don't want to know the details

The majority of Kindle users, like the majority of Nook users are completely unaware of the details. They want to be able to download their books and read them. A few of the more aware know that they can copy other books onto their devices through USB, but otherwise don't care how it works.

Then again, the majority of users don't post here.
