Well physically, I think the eink Nook is perfect as is. I bought it at $249, and wouldn't have paid that for it if I wasn't completely satisfied with it.
The software on the other hand, I'm going to need BN to address it, tweak, make it more functional, and do a complete overhaul on the organization software.

That said, I have no idea what the typical lifespan of an eink device is, but if I had to replace my Nook for any reason, I would like for it to be at least equal to whatever is on the market at the time.

Would love for them to keep the lcd screen, but I completely understand why they wouldn't. (Battery life, cost, etc). Being able to view my covers is no longer a must have for me since I have the Nookcolor.
If I can't have the LCD panel, then it has to be entirely touchscreen. A ghastly Kindle-esque keyboard would be the ultimate deal breaker.

I guess a pearl display would be optimal, but honestly, I don't see a huge difference between Sony's display and the Nook's display. But at least it will shut people up about it.
Slimmer and lighter would be ideal, but not if it's going to feel flimsy like Kobo/Kindle.
Different color options and .... this will probably really be an unpopular opinion, but I wouldn't mind if they did away with the bezel buttons either.

Basically, give me a lighter form of the Nookcolor, and we're good.
