Post Wi-Fi and Iliad

I'm a Kindle owner and am pretty happy overall except for the fact that I live out of EVDO range.

From what I've read in this forum it appears that currenly the only thing WiFi can be used for on the Iliad is to download updates and surf the net.

I'd be interested in buying an Iliad if I could at least use it to wirelessly download books from Feedbooks and Manybooks.

Can it currently be used for that purpose?

Thanks in advance.

BTW I'm on a Mac.
