Like some unidentifiable cancer the general appears in the desert, the abyss-like belly of his prisons swallowing up his countrymen as his operations spread. With unknown means and unknown intentions he looms there, gathering strength, until an elite reconnaissance and counter-terrorism team are sent in. The mission: to ascertain the general's designs. The method: to pass Joshua, a deadly agent with an awe-inspring sense of character, into the main prison as a journalist. But from their first interview to their final acts neither Joshua, nor the general, seem to have any idea of what the other is capable of.
