I did not have to use a powered HUB since the Modem had a special extra power USB connection.

Boy you aren't kidding about the cost. Though I got a very fair price on the CTR350 on eBay new w/shipping for $129. Not cheap but not out of reasonable range.

I have realized that my current setup is just for emergencies since it is a bit annoying to use the device with the USB cable attached and the setup to get it to work is not simple. A Craddlepoint device have become more tempting... How does it know how to login? Is this configurable so you in the worst case can write your own ATDT commands?

oh, what a great idea! I really never thought of BT headphones for the NIT. I had read the audio from the BT headphones was often pretty marginal...are your decent enough? I mean I am no audiophile...in fact I am the anti-audiophile...hehehehe...I mostly listen to books or something relaxing while I read.

For simple spoken recorde radio programs (I listen to a philosophy radio program) it is OK but I still get some disturbances. If that is not enough you can buy a headset with a dongle that contains the sender and connect with cable to the NX00. But then you get an extra cable. I read that you could get better sound quality but this implementatiomn used the CPU so it consumed a lot of battery.
