Wrist straps are more of a safety precaution as Catlady mentioned. I find them to be more of a danger though. I usually pop my head up on a bus or train and realize I'm about to miss my stop and then hurriedly grab my laptop bag and bound for the doors as they're closing. A wrist strap would hinder me at the very least, or cause my libre to smack someone in the face at worst, to say nothing of the damage to unit itself.
