I can confirm that I re-named the file extension from within 'My Kindle Content' of the original file from B0050CM448_EBOK.azw to B0050CM448_EBOK - Copy.mobi, bizarrely the newly named mobi file does not sport a padlock on the icon.

I had previously 'liberated' the original file via Calibre, but in removing the DRM from the original file this would not have affected the original file held in 'My Kindle Content' in any way?

As Kovid says the plug-ins treat both azw and mobi in the same way, so it is quite odd and I am assuming as stated above that only the liberated file is transferred to the Calibre library and the original in the 'My Kindle Content' folder remains untouched - it still has a padlock icon indicating that DRM is still present.

Cheers
Paul
