Please accept the fact that eInk reading devices natively supporting ePub are still but a small fraction of the overall devices on which eBooks can be (and are) read worldwide.
Amazon still has no need whatsoever to either include or switch to ePub.

I didn't bought it to read kindle e-books on my phone.
Kindle for PC lacks a linux version indeed. And I can't carry my PC in the metro anyway. My phone can run Kindle for Android, but it's screen is way to small, and LCD. Nowhere near the comfort of a "real" reader.

Not so small. And they are the devices me myself and I reads on.
