If it were not for thebillions of nails lying everywhere, somebody could make out like a bandit with a metal detector. Lots of gold and jewelry, sheet silver in troy ounces, etc. The loose stones will be sparkly.
EDIT: On second thought, it might work better if you pan for gold in my yard. Look around and see if you can find my gold pan, trowel, and seives, then knock yourself out. Remember, dirt floats and gold sinks.
