I would LOVE to read in direct sunlight. E-ink does not hurt by it ... and most of the e-readers state in their brochures that you can do it.
My problem as I always state in this forum is that I had the bad luck and sense of buying a SONY reader... which (I hope they fixed their problems by now!) came with a faulty e-ink screen that "dissolves" the image when exposed to direct lighting ... hence, I cannot read in direct sunlight, because pages "fly away". GRRRRrr.r...r
