This morning I plugged into my computer... used the Kobo desktop application to sync some new books to my computer... then used the Kobo 'eject' button to disconnect. Everything seemed to close properly... the Kobo disappeared from my system tray as an external hard drive. Pulled the plug and the Kobo rebooted... added the new books... went to the "Currently Reading" page and there it froze. Nothing worked. I have sent an email to Kobo about this... we'll see what sort of suggestions they make.
This seems to be a recurring problem every time I plug in to sync or just to charge.

maybe the eject that you're using isn't fully functioning.
i had problems at the beginning when i was weeding out what i could and couldn't do with the kobo. i have a great system now and i never use the desktop app. next time you're plugged in try ejecting from 'my computer'
right click on the kobo drive and click on eject and try it that way and not through the desktop app.
see if that helps any.
