The new rules require any app that offers paid content outside of it to offer the same as In App purchases (with 30% Apple cut)...
Three possible scenarios:
1.) Amazon stops selling stuff via their apps on iOS altogether, offering the Kindle App as a service only for reading books on iOS (they can always make people aware of the fact that they can still surf to the Kindle store themselves) (I don't know if the rules could still be interpreted in a way that this would actually count as "selling content outside of the app" in the way Apple sees it, I think they would be stupid because they would simply lose buyers of their devices looking for a Kindle companion directly to Amazon's new tablet)
2.) They supplement their "To the Kindle Store" button with a "To the In App Store" button. (very unlikely I suppose, they are just not dependent enough on Apple's system)
3.) They remove their iOS App and point out that they have their own tablet now... (likely but not without the danger of infuriating a not very small number of customers)
I'm pretty sure I would move away from iOS if there was no more Kindle app... I use my iPad for reading only these days (PDFs and Kindle books) and occasional films on the plane or bus (although I have spent some money on Apps already, most of which I never use anymore), nothing in particular that any other tablet couldn't do as well (Amazon's?)... Only thing I will miss is my Moleskine cover (which wouldn't work for other iPads anyway)...
