I'd be cautious about choosing a tablet without trying it out in the store, and I personally have not been enamored of the Toshiba netbooks to which Engadget and Gizmodo gave orgasmically high marks. Convenient and inexpensive devices often have similar specs, so I find it best to get the one I love aesthetically.

Things I do like about Toshiba: the overall design and balance of features and price. Things I haven't liked at all: Their keyboards and screens. I reserve judgment on any Toshiba tablet until I've touched and seen the screen personally.
